Updates

It has been one year since the last time I posted.  In the meantime, the m4/3 Olympus system has been sold away.  The worst part was having left the Olympus 75mm F1.8.  A few months later, I saw an Olympus EM5II Titanium Limited Edition and bought it at a good price.  The best part was two days later, a guy asked about the 75mm lens.  So I said ok and was looking for an Olympus 45mm F1.8 instead.  This buyer had one in mint and new condition and he paid me via the 45mm lens and $400 in cash.  I used the combination for about a month and decided to sell away as I wanted to concentrate on one system.

A week later, Nelson from The Camera Workshop showed me a near mint Pentax LX that the shop had for sale.  The owner was a Japanese guy who wanted $480 for it and Daniel asked me to give a price that I was willing to pay and I quoted $550.  I was now the new owner of the LX, but there was no grip.  I took it over and did looked for a grip for the LX.

In the meantime, we were joking on the Whatsapp chat group about the smallness of the Q system and Bernard said he still had his.  I pmed him and got the Q7 together with the 01 standard prime, the 02 zoom and the 06 telephoto lenses at a good price.

At the next outing, I managed to poison Philip, an ex-Q owner like myself and James's wife into getting a Q7/Q-S1.  I asked Ben if he had a spare Pentax Grip B when we met up for our usual outing and he told me he had one.  During the next outing, he passed me the grip and messaged me the price of the grip.  I was elated as it cost less than $100.  Then I looked for the loops to complete the look and found a pair on Buyjapon at about $80, which was less than the one on eBay.

The Q7 is so different from the previous Q that I used as it has a wider view as the sensor is 1/1/7" instead of the original 1/2.3" of the Q.  It is really light enough to carry around inside my messenger bag and bring along to work.  I even used it for a staff games day last week and the results were very good as I could play with RAW files like my K1/KP.

I finally had the chance to test out the LX with a roll of film and hope to complete the film by the end of next week.

That's all for today!
